Alopecia Areata-

This condition often starts with small circular patches that appear on the scalp, but can be found in beards, eyebrows, eyelashes and body hair. It is thought to be an autoimmune condition. Cells from the immune system gather around the hair follicle and start to attack the follicle, this then stops the hair from being produced.

Female Pattern Hair Loss -

This type of hair loss is distinctive form of diffuse hair loss. It is also known as androgentic alopecia Many women are affected by FPHL. Around 40% of women by age 50 show signs of hair loss and less than 45% of women reach the age of 80 with a full head of hair. You may start to notice hair feeling finer, less volume, scalp becomes visible and becomes harder to style your hair. This can be hereditary. While there is no cure for this type of hair loss, there are treatments available that can help slow the process down. Hair volumizer or wigs can help to give you back your confidence if this hair loss is effecting you.

Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia -

Frontal fibrosing alopecia usually presents as a uniform linear band of hair loss along the front and sides of the scalp hair margin, resulting in a receding frontal hair line. You can also start to notice hair over the body goes too, such as hairs on the arms, legs, eyebrows. A skin biopsy maybe required to exclude other forms of scarring alopecia.
